Education & Livelihood – HELP Program & Our Project Ujjwal Bhavishya(for semi-skilled manpower without formal education)
SEVWA recognizes education as one of the building blocks of any nation and considers it as a priority area for CSR activities. The aim is to nurture young minds and educate them so that they contribute to the nation’s development. Realising the importance and relevance of education and skill, a number of initiatives have been undertaken in this respect like making them aware about 120 career avenues after class X and if they have a skill or already engaged in work, guiding them about the NSQF and handholding them towards achieving the next level.
- “Higher Education Link Programme (HELP)” is directed towards such students. In its initial effort, HELP has the following details:
Objective:
Making students aware about the 120 career options through the career guidance booklets & guidance through creating a ‘mentor’ faculty
Process:
a) Right aptitude: An awareness workshop is conducted with the students to explain them about aptitude & importance of their own strengths and weaknesses followed by the discussions with the help of students Information Booklet.
b) The Student Information Booklet (SIB) – Provides information on colleges, streams, course, requirements and procedures in admissions to courses/colleges, Women’s colleges, School of Open learning (SOL),and the Industrial Training Institutes (ITI). Further, the process is presented through window screenshots to make the student familiar with the on-line application process, FAQs etc.
c) The Facilitator: Career Guidance & Counseling Booklet–helps the facilitator/volunteer to guide the student to her/his best options. The facilitator/volunteer will explore the i) student’s interest and natural inclination on subjects, ii) clarifies what are the requirements for applying to particular subjects, iii) outlines possible job opportunities available under different subjects.
The objective of this effort is to provide insight into further education opportunities including professional courses and other skilling institutes that one can opt for and take up careers in the same. Along with the ‘Student Information Booklet’, they also get support to make informed choices on their inclination to a particular course, nature of the course and its opportunities for future employment.
- Facilitating semi-skilled manpower without formal education about NSQF
Objective-
To make them aware about the importance of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and bringing them into standardized, consistent, nationally acceptable outcomes of training across the country through a national quality assurance framework.
To prepare our bottom of the pyramid with the right knowledge, skills, and aptitude, in the above-said programmes, SEVWA needs financial support from the corporate under “CSR” activities.
